The first high-end Wilderness Camp in the Amazon gives rise to a new way of experiencing the forest, expanding the access to exclusive experiences within the Cristalino Reserves.

In the Amazon, the rivers drive life and the timing of the forest. On the banks of the River Cristalino, in one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet, the Cristalino Wilderness Camp has arisen. It is a new hospitality concept that invites the traveler to slow down and experience the Amazon at its own pace. Integrated within more than 11,000 hectares of protected private reserves, the Camp brings together tensioned tents that are raised off the ground, personalized hospitality and exploration led by expert guides - including exclusive access to the trails and canoe outings that are unique to this area.
Amid the forest, tapirs, giant otters, otters, monkeys and more than 600 species of birds are part of the everyday scenery, providing authentic encounters with the preserved nature. Inspired by the spirit of ancient nomadic tents, the Cristalino Wilderness Camp proposes light and silent architecture that is deeply integrated into the landscape. It offers an experience that is designed for those who wish to feel the Amazon in its essence, with comfort, exclusivity and an intimate connection with the roots of what is essential. The Wilderness Camp extends the Cristalino journey, allowing guests to combine different ways of being in the forest: the intimate immersion of the tents and the already celebrated experience of the Lodge, in a longer and more diverse stay in the Cristalino Reserves.
Conceived exclusively for the Cristalino Wilderness Camp, the iconic tents, which are raised off the ground, offer a high-end hospitality experience that is integrated within the landscape. With an area of 109 square meters, each accommodation offers comfort, privacy and ample spaces, as well as two heated showers — one indoor and one outdoor, on a private deck, ideal for bathing under the stars — as well as a bathtub looking at the sky, which is perfect for relaxing, by day or night.
Each tent also features two climate-controlled bedrooms, one a main bedroom, while the other can be configured as a living room with a desk or as a bedroom for children or teenagers. Natural materials, furniture and objects produced by Brazilian designers reinforce an aesthetic that celebrates Brazil's rich culture. The limited number of accommodations offer views of the river or the forest and provide an atmosphere that is dedicated to rest and contemplation. The two tents can also be reserved together, turning the Wilderness Camp into a private village for families or groups of friends.
Designed to welcome few guests at a time, the social areas function as a home that is open to the forest, fostering spontaneous encounters and natural coexistence between the visitors and the surrounding scenery. The Social Tent combines a living room, dining room, bar and open-plan kitchen under a light structure, where the sound of the cascades and a view of the river accompany every moment of the day.
The Wilderness Camp's purpose is to encourage a deeper relationship with the Amazonian land and its waters. Sleeping in a raised tent, waking up to the sound of the river and following the rhythms of the forest brings the travelers closer to a universal human experience: living on nature's time. The stay becomes a rare experience, in which luxury is found in the immersion, in the presence and in the relationship with what is essential.
At night, the campfire under the starry sky invites gathering together, conversation and reflection, creating an environment that is conducive to experiences that remain with the traveler far beyond their stay. During the day, the riverside deck invites swimming, leisurely reading and moments for appreciating the scenery.
At the Cristalino Wilderness Camp, the gastronomy follows the rhythms of the forest and celebrates Amazonian ingredients, traditional techniques and wood-fire-cooking. Prepared by chef Fabio Vieira, the cuisine combines products from local agroforestry, organic producers and regional communities, as well as freshwater fish and native fruits, always respecting the seasons. At night, the five-course dinner is prepared at the moquém (grill) or in the charcoal-fired oven, in an experience that draws the guests more closely to the aromas, flavors and ingredients of the Amazon.
Each outing is an invitation to discover the Amazon at its own rhythm. Led by specialized guides and carried out in small groups, the experiences favor attentive observation, knowledge and respect for the cycles of the forest. In addition to the trails and canoe outings that are exclusive to this area, the Wilderness Camp offers access to all the activities of the Cristalino Lodge, including more than 30 kilometers of trails and two observation towers.
Hiking, boat trips, canoeing and wildlife observation enable guests to explore one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet – a habitat to more than 600 species of birds, as well as tapirs, giant otters, primates and other iconic animals, such as the white-whiskered spider monkey. Each route broadens one's perspective on the complexity of this ecosystem and reinforces the message that responsible tourism and conservation walk hand in hand.
Conceived to have a minimal environmental impact, the project brings together structures that are raised off the ground, solar energy, solar water heating, the treatment of black and gray water through permaculture systems, the composting of organic waste, recycling, the use of biodegradable products, and the responsible management of natural resources.
The Cristalino Wilderness Camp is located in the municipality of Novo Mundo, in Mato Grosso state. Access can be obtained from the Cristalino Lodge, in approximately 30 minutes to one hour by boat; or from Alta Floresta airport, combining 40 minutes of land transportation and 45 minutes to one hour by boat. On both routes, the arrival itself is part of the immersive Amazon experience.
The experience can be lived exclusively at the Cristalino Wilderness Camp or combined with the Cristalino Lodge, making it a more complete journey through the Cristalino Reserves. Together, the two locations offer different ways of experiencing the Amazon — from the intimacy and silence of the tents to the structure and tradition of the Lodge - always in close connection with the rhythms of the forest.
