This type of vegetation is typical of poor, shallow, rocky soil with occasional forest fragments. Bamboo groves are common, and the trees tend to be medium sized, up to about twelve meters in height.
Walking amongst the Campinarana vegetation, containing bamboo groves and endemic birds.
The trunks of most of the trees are irregular, making it easier for bromeliads, philodendrons, orchids and vines to attach themselves. Palm trees are rare, except for the Buriti (Mauritiella armata). This vegetation is uncommon, due to its peculiar characteristics, but there are bird species that live only in this habitat.
