Access to the lodge is through the town of Alta Floresta (in Mato Grosso state), which is connected to all the main Brazilian cities by regular flights. From there to the lodge is a 1 hour drive, followed by a 30 minute boat trip on the River Cristalino that begins your tour of the natural beauty of this region, showing you an enormous variety of birds, butterflies, primates and other mammals that will be further enjoyed from the system of trails that take you through various different types of vegetation. And when it comes to relaxation, there are canoe trips and bathing in the river, as well as enjoying the tasty and exotic regional cuisine.
The accommodation is fully integrated with the environment, giving the guests an authentic feel for the exuberance of the Amazon. The lodge’s floating deck on the River Cristalino is a wonderful place for visitors to enjoy nature. It is equipped with tables protected by parasols, reclining chairs with colorful cushions and a fire pit in the middle. During the day, the deck is a base for swimming in the river, sunbathing or canoeing. During the night, an open fire sets the mood for chatting with friends under a star-filled sky.
The lodge has two 50-meter observation towers that enable guests to observe tree-dwelling animals and enjoy the lush landscapes of the southern Amazon’s terra firma forest, famous for the rich diversity of its huge and ancient trees. A total of 586 bird species has been registered in the area - one of the highest levels of bird biodiversity in the entire Amazon region.
