Going well beyond conventional practices, Brazilian hotels are making innovative sustainability efforts, benefiting their guests, local communities and partners for the common good. In 2018, Cristalino Lodge was the winner of the BLTA (Brazilian Luxury Travel Association) Sustainability Award, presented in appreciation of the work by its members, focused on sustainability, environmental preservation, responsible tourism, culture and social development.
The contenders for the Sustainable Vision Award were evaluated by a panel of judges, comprising five experts who carefully analyzed the initiatives, according to four criteria: conservation, culture, community and business.
The award acknowledges the Cristalino Lodge conservation efforts within the Amazon region, environmental education activities involving the local community and promotion of research as a means of generating knowledge, developing an innovative tourism model that can be replicated in other regions.
