The hotel was featured in their June/July 2013 edition and in a gallery of special photos showing the "World's Best Ecolodges" on National Geographic Traveler’s award-winning website.
It was a competitive selection process and the National Geographic editorial team worked hard to find the best, most authentic and most sustainable ecolodges of 2013. According to Associate Editor Amy Alipio, "This year marks the 125th anniversary of the National Geographic Society. The chosen ecolodges capture the Society's spirit of exploration and commitment to the environment".
