Speciality Trails

Borboletas Trail. Following a 30-minute boat trip, this trail takes visitors through the forest of the River Teles Pires, whose characteristics are very different from that of the Cristalino. This tour is available from May to November.
Duration: 3 to 4 and a half hours.
Difficulty level: Easy.

Dr. Haffer Trail. Discovered by the German ornithologist Jürgen Haffer, this trail connects different types of vegetation, including bamboo groves. Due to the specific species that can be found in the area, such as Ornate Antwren (Epinecrophylla ornata), White-backed Fire-eye (Pyriglena leuconota), Manu Antbird (Cercomacra manu) and Rufous-capped Nunlet (Nonnula ruficapilla), this trail is recommended for birdwatching.
Duration: 3 to 4 and a half hours.
Difficulty level: Easy.

Manakin Trail. A short trail that is accessed by boat, passing close to a natural lake. Due to the specific species that can be found in the area, such as White-crowned Manakin (Dixiphia pipra), Bronzy Jacamar(Galbula leucogastra) and Brown-banded Puffbird(Notharchus ordii), this trail is recommended for birdwatching.
Duration: 3 to 4 hours.
Difficulty level: Easy.

Ariosto Island. Situated on the River Teles Pires, Ariosto Island has an area of 567 hectares, provides a home for a great many birds and serves as a study base for the Cristalino Foundation (Fundação Cristalino). Watching the sunset on the river is a very beautiful attraction.
Duration: 3 to 3 and a half hours.
Difficulty level: Easy.
